Veteran's Day!!

Lily got to visit the nation's longest running Veteran's Day parade today and learned a lot. First she learned that ANYONE can be in the Veteran's Day parade. Second she learned that the Shriners are goofy bunch o' folks. Third she learned how much this town loves and respects its veterans. She didn't pose too many times for us at the parade but we got a few shots that that might make you giggle. We begin with Lily at the Regions Center checking out the beginning of the paradeNow she is checking out the WWII veterans who were in the Battle of the BulgeThen Lily saw for the first time the illustrious potentate!!The shriners out weighed the entire car and pulled wheelies every time they hit the gas..goofy goofy shrinersLily is so pumped to see the Pipers in the background
Here are just a few shots of the toys I've been begging Kim to buy me that I'm pretty sure I will never get:

A Lily Carol

Last week started her journey towards a meal of steak and potatoes. This journey has many stops along the way though. At the stroke of midnight you will be visited by three ghosts of Lily's past, present, and future.
PAST
She started out like many do, as a child...
Right away we knew she was no normal baby
She then proved she was ready for more, time for carrotsWhats next? Strawberries!!

Then she tried to make the jump to orienta...asian-american foodsAfter she decided that that was a little large, she tried out a lemonNo good here either...Then came her entrance to the wonderful world of Cheerios

Time to fast forward

PRESENT

Pizza timeSteak bits and grapes were next on the listThen came the Ravioli pick-ups!! These are Lily's favorite so farGourmet dish from Gerber's kitchenShe ate so much it wound up being a Thanksgiving situation where you eat so much you might fall asleep at the table...

FUTURE

(Warning: some pictures may be doctored to accurately represent the future of Lily's appetite)Lily will never back down from a challenge

Lily's new Kicks

Lily got some new kicks this week! It's a little sad moving from pitter patter to clippity clop but I think we are all handling it ok. Since then she's just been be boppin' around the house (get this) like she owns the place. She even has the concept pretty down pat. When this happens you wind up with missing shoes in the car every time you go out! Here is Lily checking her straps out and then making sure the construction of her sole is to her liking

Unfortunately shoes means it is a little harder to get up, but Lily jumped that hurdle pretty quickly

Rock A Bye Baby

Last week Lily began climbing onto the baby chair in the front hall. This sparked an idea! Lets get out her rocking chair that Grandma Pat gave her when she first arrived in this world. The result was nothing short of spectacular. Andrew doesn't know it yet (well I guess now he does) but he now has a rocking chair waiting for him fresh from the attic so the cuzzies can rock back and forth, whittle, and shoot the breeze.

Parent years

Is there such a thing as "parent years"? I imagine these to be be similar to dog years where your life is rapidly advanced during this period. Especially the rule about the first year counting for 10! We have been a little behind but hopefull this will explain why...
