Lily's Hideaway

Lily gets her very own bedroom at the Grandparent's house.
Since my sister and I have moved out and this time there is no sign of coming back, Stephen our younger brother has had his eye on the bigger vacant bedrooms. There was also the need for Lily to have a room designed for spend the night parties at Grandma's. We committed to a work weekend for a bedroom switcheroo and after a Saturday full of cleaning, painting and heavy furniture moving. Stephen surrendered his army hideout for Lily to have a cozy place to call her own.

Stephen's room featured the ARMY GREEN walls. I didn't think we were going to keep it at first... I was ready to splash these walls with a little blush and bashful. Pink is Lily's color. After some consideration that Lily may not be the only grandchild for forever, we decided to leave the 'neutral' gender color and design a kid's room for all future grandbabies's at my parents house. It also cut down on our work tremendously. Charles only had to make touch ups where the airplane border had been.Charles had a few complaints about his extraordinarily tough boss. She must have really had him working hard. She was sure to oversee all parts of the project. This is her very own room and she wanted it done RIGHT!
"Easy does it boys"
The furniture is the same that Aunt Kate had in her room. Such a charming touch...
Lily's new bedding. To go on her brand new big girl crib.Lily's new room!
She loves it! She has a quiet, cozy place to sleep when she goes for overnight visits and lots of room to play with all the fun toys at grandma's house!

Gearing up for Christmas

Lily had a nice time hangin' out with her grandparents and getting all kinds of decorations out! First she had a chat with Frosty and Santa on the swing...
She also had a nice time arranging the gummie Santa on the door...

Don't tell Lily but I think her arrangement is a little...expressionistic

Veteran's Day!!

Lily got to visit the nation's longest running Veteran's Day parade today and learned a lot. First she learned that ANYONE can be in the Veteran's Day parade. Second she learned that the Shriners are goofy bunch o' folks. Third she learned how much this town loves and respects its veterans. She didn't pose too many times for us at the parade but we got a few shots that that might make you giggle. We begin with Lily at the Regions Center checking out the beginning of the paradeNow she is checking out the WWII veterans who were in the Battle of the BulgeThen Lily saw for the first time the illustrious potentate!!The shriners out weighed the entire car and pulled wheelies every time they hit the gas..goofy goofy shrinersLily is so pumped to see the Pipers in the background
Here are just a few shots of the toys I've been begging Kim to buy me that I'm pretty sure I will never get:

A Lily Carol

Last week started her journey towards a meal of steak and potatoes. This journey has many stops along the way though. At the stroke of midnight you will be visited by three ghosts of Lily's past, present, and future.
PAST
She started out like many do, as a child...
Right away we knew she was no normal baby
She then proved she was ready for more, time for carrotsWhats next? Strawberries!!

Then she tried to make the jump to orienta...asian-american foodsAfter she decided that that was a little large, she tried out a lemonNo good here either...Then came her entrance to the wonderful world of Cheerios

Time to fast forward

PRESENT

Pizza timeSteak bits and grapes were next on the listThen came the Ravioli pick-ups!! These are Lily's favorite so farGourmet dish from Gerber's kitchenShe ate so much it wound up being a Thanksgiving situation where you eat so much you might fall asleep at the table...

FUTURE

(Warning: some pictures may be doctored to accurately represent the future of Lily's appetite)Lily will never back down from a challenge
