To kick off a wonderful season, Aunt Kate invited us to the Spring into Art festival at the school. We spent the day with Aunt Kate and Uncle Mike doing crafts and finding used treasures. The halls were lined with items for the silent auction... and Mama did very good to not bid on one thing (even though there was some really cool stuff: restraunt gift cards, amazing gift baskets, art, vacations, kids dance registration for a year- I displayed some extraordinary self control)
Once inside the 'kid zone' the first table available was mountain high with stuffed animals and babys that needed a new home. Lily picked herself up a new babydoll. You will see tucked under her arm throughout the pictures.
Then we made Dragonfly keychains.... FUN!
Lily was denied face painting because she was under age. RISKY!
BOOKS! Oh my, there were lots of books that needed a new home as well. For only pennies, Lily picked out some gently used books that she will love. If you didn't know... Lily loves to read more than anything else. We are sooo proud!
This is when my camera died. So we couldn't capture the whole event. But here are some goodies that we brought home.

Actually she was kinda scary and Lily crinkled her eyebrows at the painted, green haired lady. She happily took her balloon and moved on. Smart girl!
Aunt Kate helped Lily make a clay dish!
New books! I bet Lily's grandmother is going to enjoy a new story... Five Silly Monkeys and Good Dog Carl need a break!
We pet the sherriff's dog, played in Mrs. Thomas' classroom like a real big girl and had tons fun!
Thank you Aunt Kate for taking us!

As The Bear Hunt says, "What a wonderful day!" Love the report, love the new blog format!
Little flower children always make a event prettier!!!!
She's just adorable. So glad she got so many wonderful books! The new blog photo and wallpaper are great!
Wow! What a big girl day! I'm impressed with her crafts!
Yes I guess that keychain does look more like a dragonfly than a butterfly. Please tell Lily Aunt Kate was wrong on that one. Definitely not a butterfly. Post the new pics with the popsicle sticks in her mouth! Those are too funny! We had a great time :-)
Also....she took Itsy Bitsy Spider from that poor child...oops. She got a away because she was more mobile :-)
if she keeps growing like she is maybe we can pretend that she is 3 and get a face painting
